For planned care, usually within one to two weeks. In urgent situations - such as a hospital discharge - we can often arrange things within a few days.

The whole Leeds district, from Otley and Wetherby to Morley, Pudsey and Garforth, and many surrounding villages. Because the carer lives with you, distance isn't usually a problem.

We check identity, right to work, references and a DBS (criminal record) check, and talk to every carer about their experience before introducing them.

Yes. We suggest carers we think will suit, and you decide. If it doesn't feel right after they start, tell us and we'll find someone else.

Somewhere to sleep that's their own, shared use of the kitchen and bathroom, their meals (or money towards food) and a two-hour daily break. We'll go through the details at the assessment.

Prices start at £1,200 a week for one person. Higher needs cost more, and you'll have your figure in writing before care starts.

If you have savings under £23,250 and are eligible for support, Leeds City Council may contribute after a financial assessment. Your home isn't counted when care is provided at home.

If your needs are primarily health needs, you may qualify for NHS Continuing Healthcare, which pays in full. It's assessed by the NHS, usually starting with a checklist from a nurse or social worker.

Leeds Haven is an introductory agency. We introduce and match carers rather than employing them to provide personal care, which is a model the Care Quality Commission recognises under the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
