About us

Home is where the heart is

Leeds Haven exists for one reason: to help older people in Leeds stay in the homes they love, with the right person beside them.

Why we do this

Everyone deserves to grow older with dignity and comfort, in the place that means most to them. For most people that's their own home - the garden they've tended, the neighbours they know, the chair by the window.

Choosing care for yourself or someone you love is one of the biggest decisions a family makes, and trust is everything. That's why we get to know each person before we suggest anyone, and why we match carers on character and interests as well as experience.

The carers we introduce become companions as much as helpers. Every one is checked, with references and a DBS check, and we stay in touch with families throughout.

What makes us different

Careful matching

We take time to match personalities, interests and needs - not just whoever is free next.

Continuity

We aim for long-term relationships between carers and clients, with familiar cover for breaks.

Local knowledge

We know Leeds - its hospitals, its community groups and how the council's care system works.

Straight talking

Regular updates for families, and honest advice - including when live-in care isn't the right answer.

Our mission

To arrange compassionate, dependable care that helps people keep their independence, dignity and quality of life at home - and to give families peace of mind.

How we work

Leeds Haven is an introductory agency. We find, check and introduce carers, and you choose who to go ahead with. The Care Quality Commission recognises this model under the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
